Julia attended and graduated from Yerger High School in 1955. She married the love of her life Arthur Wheeler Jr. on June 13th, 1958, in Hope (Hempstead County) Arkansas. They were married 59 years at the time of his death on June 27, 2018. Julia and Arthur moved the family to Kansas City, MO. in 1965. Julia worked for many years as a Nurses Aid at Queen of the World Hospital. While she enjoyed nursing, Julia dedicated most of her young adult life to raising her children, ensuring they were both successful in school and church. As a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, under Pastor W.H. White, Sr., she served in the Nurses Ministry and the Ushers Ministry. Julia's was also employed with the Jackson County Sheriff's Department for several years.
Julia loved to sew and garden, and she grew beautiful flowers every year. She also loved to cook and was known for creating down home southern dishes that were truly good for the SOUL.
She was the youngest of nine children and was preceded in death by her parents Frank Jamison Jr. and Mary Jones Jamison; sisters Pauline Blount, Darlene Jamison; brothers Ora Jamison, O.J. [Pete] Jamison, Fred Jamison, Buster Jamison, Robert Jamison, Leroy Jamison, grandson Gary Thompson and granddaughter LaKisha Hill.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories four children Mary Curtis (Reggie) of Kansas City, MO., Rodney Wheeler, Sr. (Patricia) of Atlanta, GA., Debra Nabors (Danny) of Kansas City, MO., Michael Wheeler of Kansas City, MO., 10 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services Thursday, March 6, at 11:00am at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation 10:00am-11:00am at the chapel. Arrangements entrusted to Watkins Heritage Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
