Julian De'Vincent Hamilton Sr
August 11, 1968 – October 15, 2025
Julian De'Vincent Hamilton Sr, beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away with his wife by his side on October 15th, 2025, at the age of 57. Born on August 11, 1968, in Oakland, California, to Marjorie Gray and Lionel Cecil Hamilton Sr, Julian often said he had lived many lifetimes in his short life-and he truly did. His journey was one of purpose, growth, perseverance, adventure, and love.
The first half of Julian's life was fast-paced in the city-life moved quickly, full of energy, ambition, and hustle. In 2006, he moved to Hood River to slow things down. It took some time to get used to the quiet, but he fell hard for the outdoors and nature. He found peace in the mountains, rivers, and open skies-a balance to the intensity of his earlier years.
Julian was strong, brave, and fiercely protective of his loved ones. A proud Army veteran, he carried the discipline and courage of his military service throughout his life. He was a hustler in the best sense, always striving for new heights-driven, hardworking, and relentless in building the life he envisioned for his family. A self-made man and dedicated business owner, he poured his heart and creativity into his landscaping company, where his artistic eye turned simple spaces into living works of beauty.
Julian was deeply passionate about social justice and never hesitated to stand up for what was right. He was intelligent, generous, and absolutely hilarious-his humor could light up a room and lift anyone's spirits. But above all else, Julian was a family man. He was fiercely protective, loving, and loyal, always putting his family first and working hard to provide for and guide them.
He is survived by his mother, Marjorie Gray, sisters, Ebony McKnight, Lynesse Hamilton Talmesha Hamilton; his brothers Lionel Hamilton Jr,
Joel Hamilton, Alfonso Hamilton, Christopher Foster and Tabu McKnight, his wife, Sky; his children, LaToya Hamilton, Julian Hamilton, Juliza Hamilton, Ayanna Hamilton, Amara Hamilton; and his stepchildren, Rain Vaday and Ash Vaday. He was preceded in death by his father Lionel Hamilton Sr and two brothers Micheal Wadsworth and Taurus Hamilton.
His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Te'Janae (Teja) Hamrick, Trevon Hamilton, Tyree Gulley, Oakley Vaday, Talullah Vaday Bly, Leo Vaday Bly, and Everest Vaday, who will grow up hearing stories of his laughter, courage, and love.
Julian lived life fully-he loved deeply, worked hard, and inspired everyone around him. He will be remembered as strong, brave, and devoted-a man with a big heart, sharp wit, and an unshakable spirit. Though his time here feels far too short, the impact of his love, his humor, and his determination will live on forever in those who knew and loved him.
