Julian Conrad Kobylarz, a cherished father, devoted grandfather, and beloved brother, passed away on September 26, 2024 in Southaven, Mississippi, at the age of 90. Born on February 16, 1934, in Passaic, New Jersey, Julian lived a life rich with love, laughter, and resilience.
A proud seagoing Marine who served with honor, Julian completed two tours making him a double Horned Shellback, during which he had the distinguished role of guarding the Admiral of the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. His dedication to service was a testament to his character, one defined by loyalty and commitment.
Julian's heart was as expansive as his interests. A die-hard fan of Notre Dame and the San Francisco 49ers, he relished every moment spent cheering for his teams. He also enjoyed the thrill of sports betting, always cheering for that next big win.
Julian's greatest joy, however, was his family. He was a pillar of support for the mother of his five children, Hannah Southerns and children-Patrick (and Trish), Christopher (and Heather), Suzanne (and Keith), Angela, and Julianne (and Chris)-nurturing them with unwavering love and support. He held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren: Rebecca, Regen, Kyron, and Nicole (and Dustin), as well as his great-grandchildren, Conor, Haven, and Briggston, with whom he shared countless cherished memories. His legacy of love and kindness will forever echo in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Julian's sister, Joan Haefner (and Nubby), remains among those who carry forward the warmth of his memory. His family mourns the loss yet celebrates the beautiful, full life he lived.
Julian is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Alexander Victor Kobylarz and Stasia Therese Kowalski, as well as his cherished grandson, Nicholas Hendrix. These loved ones welcomed him with open arms, and his spirit will undoubtedly shine brightly among them.
As we reflect on Julian's life, we remember a man who embodied love, loyalty, and a zest for life. His legacy will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Rest in peace, Julian; you will be deeply missed and forever loved.
