Julian Tanner Ramirez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Julian Tanner Ramirez, born May 14, 2001, who went to his eternal home on November 7, 2025, at the age of 24.

Julian was the life of every room he entered. If there was music, he was dancing; if there was a quiet moment, he broke it with a joke and could always make everyone laugh. He was a loyal friend who showed up early and stayed late, the kind of person you wanted by your side in good times and bad. Above all, Julian was a proud father. His son, Azul Ray-Carter Ramirez, was the center of his world, and Julian's love for him was strong and unwavering, just like he was in everything else.

A graduate of Shawnee High School in Shawnee, Oklahoma, Julian was a proud member of the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana, of the Panther Clan, and also a descendant of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma. He was affectionately known to friends and family by his Indian name, Yanasa, which means Bu alo. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and singing karaoke. He also loved football, especially his Oklahoma Sooners. OU wasn't just a team; rooting for his Boomer Sooners was a lifestyle, and he never missed an opportunity to show how much his team meant to him.

Julian leaves behind a close-knit and loving family: his parents, Antonio and Jeanine Ramirez; his grandmother, Linda Langley (Aapo Doc); his beloved son, Azul; siblings Antonio II, Tiffany, Adam (Charlotte), Tyler (Layla), Mariah, and Elicia; and a tribe of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who will carry his memory forward with love and laughter.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Florentino and Helen Ramirez, and Bertney and Jeanette Langley; his great-aunt, Melissie Battise (Kosi Mellie); and his best friend, Kevanna Starr.

Julian lived his life boldly and wholeheartedly, and his absence will be felt by everyone whose life he brightened. He gave joy freely and fiercely, and that joy will live on through his son and through everyone who had the honor of knowing him.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and will continue on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m., in the Reed Chapel at Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 315 N 14th St, Kinder, LA.

Julian will be laid to rest at St. Peter's Cemetery in Elton, Louisiana following the service.
A reception will follow at Smith Hall at Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home.
