Thomas, Julian Riley - Age 92, of Fenton, passed away April 16, 2025. Julian was born August 3, 1932, in Flint, Michigan, the son of William and Minnie (Turner) Thomas. Julian graduated from Montrose High School in 1950 and then attended GMI before being called to serve in the U.S. Army to which he served during the Korean War era. When he came home, he started his career for Chevrolet Manufacturing as a Pattern Maker. He married his beloved wife, Lorraine Doris Burtch on September 1, 1951, in Midland and she preceded him in death April 26, 2018. He was the proud owner and operator of Thomas Toys Inc. of Fenton which he started in 1969 and continued until the age of 90 1/2. He was a proud member of the Fenton Lions Club, Fenton VFW Post #3243, Flint Toy Collectors and many bowling leagues. Surviving are: daughter, Julieann (Robbie) Roberson of Clarkston; son, William Robert (Jennifer) Thomas of Vanderbilt; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and his dear companion, Eileen Price. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Lorraine Doris Thomas; sons, Dwight, Gregory, Loren, and Brian Thomas.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Home, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. A Committal Service with Military Honors will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Visitation will be held 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
