Julian James Wilkins, born July 19, 1946 passed away August 2 , 2025. He was born and raised and lived in the United Kingdom with his parents Walter and Isobel Wilkins, until he emigrated to the United States. His memory, a collection of our families’ and friend’s personal anecdotes and experiences, will live on shared in mirth. In a way, Julian was an outlaw, known to put his shoes on the wrong foot, say whatever bizarre thought came to mind, or cause a couple international incidents. He played fast and loose with the rules of society, and we loved him for it. Those who knew him, or just briefly met him, have a story to tell. Greeting each stranger with a firm handshake, a tipped head, and his full name, he met life with the same enthusiastic eccentricity. He won’t only be remembered as the talented architect, consultant, (adjunct) professor, husband, father, or son. He will also be remembered by the way he affected those around him. Sometimes too self-serious but always quick to laugh, the way he could perfectly emulate common farm animals, his affinity for gravy, or his death-waking sneezes. Even as his condition worsened, he always seemed to scrap together enough lucidity to make us all laugh with some caterwauling serenade or out of left field comment. Julian, Jula-bear, Jules, Dad, has returned to the mothership, on his way home to the planet Zog where he claims to be from.

He is survived by his wife Stephanie, daughter Kitty (Jed), sons Matthew (Tracey), Nicholas, Alexander (Julie), and Thomas and his granddaughter Leonie.

Goodbye and rest easy.
