Julian Wilson, affectionately known as Johnny, was born on January 23, 1930, to the late Alvin D. Wilson Sr. and Susie E. Mitchell Wilson. He peacefully entered eternal rest on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the age of 95. He was preceded in death by his son, Darryl Lynn Lee; seven brothers-William, Marshall Sr., Casey Sr., Vernal Grant, Eugene Sr., Alvin Sr., and Francis Sr.; and eight sisters-Beatrice Craig, Fannie Norris, Virginia Scearce, Rilda Catherine Butler, Thelma Roberts Sidney, Susie Mitchell Doty, Dorothy Wilson, and Ida Clay Mosley. Johnny received his early education at Boston Elementary School and graduated from Ed Davis High School in Georgetown, Kentucky. He later studied tailoring at West Kentucky Vocational School in Paducah and completed training in autobody repair at Layfette Vocational School. He worked for many years as an autobody repairman at his own shop, Wilson Autobody. He served as a mail carrier and painter at the Lexington Bluegrass Army Depot, proudly serving the federal government. At the age of 10, Johnny accepted Christ and united with Zion Baptist Church in Georgetown under the leadership of the late Rev. A.L. Pearson. Later, he joined Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church-now Faith Way Church at Zion Hill-under the pastorage of the late Rev. J.D. Jackson. He served faithfully in numerous roles, including the Audio-Visual Ministry, Mass Choir, Male Chorus, and as a Trustee. Johnny leaves to cherish his memory: His devoted wife, Anna B. Wilson, and son, Steven (Tamatha) Wilson of Midway, KY; Grandchildren: Rachel Birdsong, D'Juan Clay, Nykia Wilson, and Courtney Scott; Eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by two beloved sisters, Marzee Ingram and Ella Clay; one brother- in-law, Willie LaRue Mosley; his loving church family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
