Obituary

Roderick Lee Clay, 54 was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, October

20, 2025. He was born to the late Timothy McCollins, of Louisville, Kentucky.

and Helen Clay James of Lexington, Kentucky.

Roderick was raised here in Lexington in the Fayette County Public School

System, then acquired his GED, He began working odd jobs and spent most of his time

at Hartland Health Care as a member of the dietary Department.

He accepted Christ Jesus as his personal Savior and was baptized into the

membership of the Little Zion Baptist Church at Avon. Those who truly knew Roderick

can attest to his Love of Basketball, Football, and his steadfast love for his family alone

with determination for anything he set his mind too.

He was proceeded in Death by his Grandparents; Ben W, and Dorothy E. Clay,

Step- Father; Alfonzo James, Uncle Charles H. Jackson Sr. Grandson Zyaire Waide.

Cousin; Damarcus (Wootini) Clay

He leaves to cherish his cherish his memory, his mother; Helen Clay James, five

loving children; Shanece M. Carter, Raymon A. Carter, DaJour T. Bond, Jalen L, (Alize)

Smith, and Roderick L, Clay Jr. Cherished Step-Children; Bryce A, Carter, Jordan L,

Smith, Breona R. Givens all of Lexington A Host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren

that are too numerous to mention. a Faithful Uncle; Ben (Carolyn) Clay, a Doating Aunt

Dorothy Jackson, A Special Steadfast God Sister Carita Webb, Special Cousins and

Friends who were like who he could call on at any time ; Walktoria L Smith (Elder

Gregory L.) Parks, Balinda Matthews, James L. (Lil Cuddy) Bobbit, James (BO) Parks,

Vincent Clay, Phillip Bates, Leroy (LeeLee) Jackson, Tim Gentry, and Eric Gentry all of

Lexington, Kentucky. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him.
