Julie K. Ayers, age 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Julie was born in Olean, NY, on September 15, 1934, to Gervase and Julia Flynn. She married James Lawrence "Larry" Ayers on December 27, 1956. She was a lifelong learner, loved to read, and was passionate about social justice. She graduated as valedictorian from Wyandotte H.S. and the University of Michigan, where she earned a degree in sociology, cum laude. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Muskegon for 64 years and served as a Deacon. She is survived by daughter, Amy J. Ayers; grandchildren, Ian (Caroline) Ayers and Emily Ayers; daughter-in-law, Amy S. Ayers; brother-in-law, Donald Hiller; cousin, Linda (Harvey) Galloway, and a niece and nephews. Julie was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Ayers, and son, Michael Ayers, sister Jackie Hiller. A family-only internment service will be held at a future date at the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden.
