Julie Chenoweth Obituary

Julie Chenoweth

Born: July 5, 1972 | Died: December 24, 2025

Julie Suzanne Chenoweth gained her wings, sadly due to medical complications in Maryville, TN in the early hours of Christmas Eve. Julie was born on July 5th, 1972, in Rockford, IL and was only 53 years old at the time of her passing. She spent much of her early life in TN before moving to WI. Julie received U.S. Army Reserve certifications for Medical Specialist and Emergency Medical Technician, before being married and having three children who love her immensely. Julie remained good friends with the father of her children George Powell. She always dreamed of returning to TN, which she considered her home, and made that dream come true a few years ago. She was a very passionate, gentle, creative, and empathetic person. Julie had many interests including reading Stephen King, watching horror movies, hiking, camping, concerts, making art, and an insatiable love for the Wizard of Oz. Her favorite holiday was the 4th of July, followed closely by Christmas and Halloween. She enjoyed stained glass artwork, painting, and working with resin to create beautiful works of art. Her adventurous nature led to her being passionate about exploring the majestic landscapes of the mountains and waterfalls with her family at any chance she could. Julie was preceded in her passing by Carol and Virgil List. She is survived by; her children Lucas, Andrew (Emily), and Angela Powell, Grandchildren; Sawyer Rakowski, Jackson and Connor Powell, Siblings; Tamara (Michael) Newcomb, John Coffman, and Nathaniel Hampton, as well as her mother, Karen Chenoweth. Julie was known for her kind heart, willingness to help others in need, and she will be dearly missed. "A heart is not measured by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others"- The Wizard, The Wizard of Oz. Celebration of life to be held at Smith Funeral Home on January 10th @ 2 P.M. 1402 Tuckaleechee Pike Maryville, TN 37803
