Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. followed by the celebration of life service at 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. Arrangements are entrusted to Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com
Julie Ann Evans was born on July 17, 1960, in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of George and JoAnn (Beecroft) Ryks. She grew up in the New London community and graduated from New London-Spicer High School in 1978. She was employed for a while at Jennie-O Foods in Melrose. On December 7, 2009, Julie was married to Neil Evans and they made their home in Willmar. She worked part-time at the Dairy-Queen (Eastside) in Willmar and later at Marketing Concepts in Spicer. Julie enjoyed playing board games, traveling and visiting the local casinos.
She is survived by her husband, Neil; her mother, JoAnn Ryks of Willmar and two brothers, James (and Carey) Ryks of Buffalo and Jeff (and Julie) Ryks of Pennock, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, George in 2007.
