Julie Irene Fisher, 66, of Dallas, Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
Julie was born Julie Irene McCann on September 8, 1958 in Costa Mesa, California, the daughter of Mary Carroll McCann and Walter Lyle McCann. As a child, she enjoyed playing flute, reading, writing poetry and stories, and playing with her older siblings, Richard ("Rick"), Michael, and Helen. Julie attended San Marcos High School with her best friends Joan, Mona, and Gail, and graduated in 1976.
Julie married Vance Christopher Fisher on May 23, 1981. Julie and Vance had two children: Ross Alexander Fisher (1981) and Zoe Helen Fisher (1986). Julie moved to Portland, Oregon in 1984 to be closer to her sister, Helen, and raised her family there. Julie and Vance divorced amicably in 2007.
In her career, Julie was an expert commercial title officer and worked for a variety of title companies in the Pacific Northwest, including First American, Chicago, Transamerica, and others. After retiring, she enjoyed spending time with friends and family, traveling (including a special trip to France in 2022), knocking down pigs in Angry Birds, and cooking.
Julie loved art (her favorite painting was Van Gogh's Irises), as well as music, movies, and literature. She shared her love of reading with her children, both of whom are writers. Julie was especially fond of mysteries like the Sue Grafton Alphabet series books, corresponding with friends and family, and taking care of any stray cat that might need a loving home. She was always willing to cook a meal for someone else, and she was known to hand out candy to neighbor children with a smile and a wink.
Julie is survived by her older sister, Helen, her children, Ross and Zoe, her children's father, Vance, and her many friends, as well as a couple of loving cats.
Preceding Julie in death are her parents, her brothers Michael McCann and Richard McCann, her half-sister Kathy Moreland, and her half-brother John McCann.
A celebration of life with light refreshments, music, and memories will be held on Sunday, November 17th 12PM to 2PM at the Dallas Retirement Village in Dallas, Oregon.
In lieu of flowers, Julie's memory can be honored with a donation to your local public library. Bollman's Tribute Center is caring for the family.
