Julie Delores Bernadine Pullen Grant, 84, of Irving, Texas, left us peacefully on April 2, 2025, after living with cancer for six weeks. Julie was born on August 31, 1940, in Tucson, Arizona. She grew up the oldest daughter of Jesse Edward Pullen and Edith Mariana Morningstar. Later, a brother, Robert Iliff (Judy) and two sisters, Sharon Iliff McLain, and Jean Hurlburt joined the family. During her teenage years, she lived in Phoenix, Arizona, with her Grandparents, Albert and Esther Morningstar. Julie married Wilfred Garth Jacques on her 16th birthday, August 31, 1956 in Phoenix, AZ, later divorced. She was the mother of four children Donald Allen Jacques, Arlene Marie Jacques Condie, David Fitzgerald, and Juliana Michelle Grant Wood.
On August 25, 1973, after being taught by missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she and her two older children were baptized. Her youngest daughter was baptized a few months later.
In 1967, Julie met Orvil E Grant and his sons, Bruce and Dean. They married February 14, 1974. He investigated the same church and was baptized. In August of 1974, the family moved to Irving, TX. In 1975, they traveled to Utah with Donald, Arlene and Juliana to be sealed in the Salt Lake temple for time and all eternity.
Family history was her love which inspired her to search for and meet her biological father and half-siblings. She spent countless hours of research bringing together her complete family tree.
She was very active in her church responsibilities, including Young Women's, Primary, Music, and the temple. Additionally, served as a sign language interpreter in Irving Ward as well as YW President of the Spanish Branch. She also served a Senior mission for the church in the California, Santa Rosa Mission. Julie was multitalented. She was an accomplished seamstress, singer, artist, poet, photographer, dancer/entertainer and author of her autobiography and other written works. Being self-employed made her happiest when using her talents as an accomplished seamstress and caring for animals.
In February 2025, she retired from her dream job, "The Pet Chauffeur," which provided pet transportation and pet sitting (primarily for dogs). Julie will always be remembered for her love of animals.
Julie served every chance she could: volunteering to drive others to doctor appointments, church meetings, temple service and feeding the missionaries.
She was crowned Ms. Mature Irving 2009 where she proudly served the City of Irving and enjoyed participating in city parades for several years. She had an interest in politics, which inspired her to run for Irving City Council.
The family would like to thank Mom's many friends who sat by her side singing, reading, holding her hand, and loving her in the last weeks of her life. We thank everyone for their prayers of comfort. We all felt them.
Finally, Thank You to the caregivers who took care of Mom during her illness: Dr. Thudi, Dr. Schmerlin, Dr. Cox, the many nurses and aids from VITAS Hospice at Dallas Methodist, Avante Nursing Care Center in Irving, and supportive Social Workers. She was loved and very well cared for.
Julie is survived by her four children: Donald, Arlene (Quinton Condie), David Fitzgerald-Crosby, and Juliana (Randy Wood); stepson Bruce; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and half-siblings.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, husbands Garth Jacques and Orvil Grant, half-siblings and granddaughter, Leanne.
A viewing will be held Friday morning, April 11, 2025 from 9:00 to 10:30. The Funeral will follow from 10:30 to 11:30 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 1553 South Story Rd. Irving, Texas. Following the funeral, Julie will be laid to rest with her husband, Orv, at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens 1413 E Irving Blvd. Irving, Texas.

Sister Grant we are so grateful Heavenly Father put you in our lives. Sophia wore her pioneer dress you made her for many years. You dedication to the Church and all you taught are immeasurable. I'd say rest in peace, but I know you will be on the other side of the veil sharing the restored gospel. We love you.

Julie Grant will always have a special place in my heart. She beautifully sewed my wedding dress many years ago and when I went to pay her she wouldn´t take any money. She told me she was getting paid with blessings from the Lord. I still have that wedding dress and every time I look at it I think of her . What a beautiful and talented lady she was.
