LAGRANGE - Julie Ann Hicks, age 68, of LaGrange, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital.
She was born on Jan. 25, 1957, in Winamac, Indiana, daughter of the late Charles and Mary Ann (Hauser) Webb.
Julie graduated from Winamac Community High School in 1975. She later graduated from Indiana Business College in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
She married Samuel Hicks on Sept. 24, 2005, in Winamac, Indiana.
Julie's greatest joy was her grandkids and great-grandkids. She enjoyed attending all their various events. Nothing made her happier than spending time with them. She traveled with her granddaughter, Kairi, to many of her national softball tournaments in Destin, Florida, and Branson, Missouri. Julie was an avid reader who could often be found with a cup of coffee and a book. She and Sam also enjoyed traveling. They took many road trips and had many adventures multiple times a year. Julie loved a good burger and bookmarked many trips by which one had the best burger. One highlight of her day was competing against her step-daughter-in-law on the daily Wordle puzzle. Julie had many close friends whom she considered family. She and Deena Lowry had many trips and adventures together.
Survivors include her husband, Samuel Hicks, of LaGrange, Indiana; daughter, Alison (Marc) Peterson, of Wolcottville, Indiana; son, Charlie (Brandi) Schlabach, of Logansport, Indiana; stepsons, Jeffrey (Retha) Hicks, of Angola, Indiana, Steven (Stephanie) Hicks, of Sturgis, Michigan, and Randall (Kayleigh) Hicks, of Defiance, Ohio; a step-son-in-law, Nicholas Pack, of Goshen, Indiana; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Jennifer Ann (Hicks) Pack.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, on Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, at SonLight Community Church, 455 N. Gerald Lett Ave., Angola, Indiana.
Funeral services will follow at noon, on Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, at SonLight Community Church, Angola, Indiana.
Pastor Tony Cioffi will officiate the service.
Burial will be at Orange Township Cemetery, Rome City, Indiana, at a later time.
