JULIE ANN HILTS

     Julie A. Hilts, 62, of Marlette died peacefully Monday, October 27, 2025 in Courtney Manor, Bad Axe. She was born June 23, 1963 in Pigeon to Edward Bernard and Janet Irene (Greyerbiehl) Sweeney.

     Julie graduated from Cass City High School and was employed by McDonald’s restaurant in Sandusky for many years. She went on to work for Lear Manufacturing in Sandusky and retired due to the effects of Huntington’s Disease. Julie had a tremendous sweet tooth and loved all types of candy, especially Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. She loved and looked forward to time spent shopping or just hanging out with her grandchildren, family, and friends.

     Julie is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Charles) Phetteplace of Clifford; son, Charles (Diane Hartman) Hilts of Bad Axe; eight grandchildren: Nixon, Brooke, Caylin, Charleigh, Audrey, Chelsea, Hailey, Oakley; three great grandchildren: Remi, Nash, Oliver; eight siblings: Anthony (Susan) Sweeney of KY; Terry (Colleen) Sweeney of Cass City; Jamie (Andy) Heineman of Sanford; Todd (Paula) Sweeney of North Branch; Troy (Laura) Sweeney of Davison; Jeanie Martin of Cass City; Janel Morgan of TX; Jody (Dan) Bolton of Kalkaska; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Phil Martin.

     Honoring her wishes, a private family celebration of Julie’s life will be held. Memorials may be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America.
