Julie Ann (Swenson) Hohn was born on September 2, 1949 at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis to Theodore and Betty (Jorgensen) Swenson, the second of two daughters. They lived on 53rd and DuPont N where she attended Earl Browne Elementary School before moving up to Mille Lacs Lake in 1960. Julie attended Cove School for a few years before moving to Onamia School where she graduated in 1967. Julie excelled in playing her saxophone in high school and continued to play for many years as an adult. She married Robert Hohn on February 9, 1968 and their daughter was born in July. They lived in Dayton, MN for five years before buying their first home in Cove, MN in 1973. Julie played in the local pool league for 15 years and enjoyed riding their shovelhead Harley Davidson motorcycle with Bob, going to the Sturgis bike rally for many years. She was employed at the Onamia Clinic as a Lab Tech for 18 years where the community grew to know and love her. They moved to Four Corners, WY in 1995, buying 44 acres of land and building their dream home. Julie worked odd jobs including bartending, waitressing and working at the local dry cleaner before retiring in 2011.Julie enjoyed gardening, camping with family and friends, traveling (two trips to Alaska) and was an avid hunter, putting many mounts on their wall. Over the years they travelled to several states hunting moose, wild boar and big horn sheep. They eventually traded in their Harley for an ATV which she enjoyed riding on their land with Bob and their dog, Festus.Julie passed away on November 27, 2024 from complications of a stroke incurred in August of the same year.Julie is survived by her husband Bob, daughter Bobbi (Lawrence) Gave, granddaughters Jessica (fiancée Travis) Hohnwaldt and Kayla (significant other Robert) Gave, and her sister Lila (Dennis) Butts, dog Festus and cat Chester.She was preceded in death by her parents Theodore and Betty (Jorgensen) Swenson, and their beloved dog Miss Kitty.

A Celebration of Julie's life will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 12 - 4 PM at the Onamia Vets Club.
