Julie Bolden Metz

Julie Bolden Metz, 64, lost her courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis on March 9, 2025. Julie was born on January 17, 1961, and was proceeded in death by her parents, the late Jules M. Bolden Jr. and Sylvia B. Bolden. She was also proceeded in death by her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Jules M. Bolden Sr. (Margaret), Mr. and Mrs. Elmo F. Bienvenu Sr. (Louise), her father-in-law and mother-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Metz (Betty), her uncle Elmo F. Bienvenu Jr. and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Saunders (Lisa). Julie is survived by her loving husband of 36 years Thomas A. Metz and daughter Kristina E. Metz (Alexander), her brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Jules M. Bolden III (Silvia), her aunt Linda Bienvenu as well as nieces, nephews, grand nephews, cousins and countless other family and friends who all loved and will miss Julie dearly. Julie attended grammar school at St. Lawerence the Martyr Catholic School and was a graduate of Archbishop Chapelle High School class of 1979. She attended Louisiana State University from 1979-1981 where she was a member of the Golden Band from Tigerland. She is a graduate of St. Mary's Dominican College and Loyola University New Orleans. Julie worked in the Healthcare industry all her life with her final position being a recruiter in Human Resources for Ochsner Health System. The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the Ochsner Intensive Care Team, the Transplant team and her wonderful Critical Care and Pulmonary Physicians. They were Julie's biggest cheerleaders. Julie's final gift was organ donation through LOPA so her legacy can continue to live on through the lives of others. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at St. Agnes Church, 3310 Jefferson Hwy, Jefferson, Louisiana 70121, with a mass at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans, Louisiana.
