Julie Mills Obituary

Julie Ann Mills

San Angelo - Julie Ann Mills, age 59, of San Angelo TX, the daughter of Pat and Joel "Joe" Mills went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 5, 2021. Julie was a proud graduate of Texas Tech University. After working at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas for over 17 years, Julie relocated in 2001 to Mesa, Arizona to join her mother and step-father where she established her company Palaju, Inc. (Retail Services) where they operated a successful business. The name "Palaju" was derived from the first two letters of Pat, Larry and Julie. The 'trio' worked and played together. After the death of her mother and step-father, Julie returned home to San Angelo in 2017 where she joined the family of 1st Community Federal Credit Union as a Business Loan Officer.

Julie was preceded in death by her mother Patsy "Pat" Gann and father "Joe" Mills, sister Lisa Kaye Mills Robbins, and step father Larry Clevenger.

Julie is survived by aunts Betty Bradshaw, and Gloria "GoGo" and husband, Ronnie Baggett of Big Lake TX; Cousins Mark and Lisa Matschek and children, Macahl Matschek; Lauryn and husband, Josh Kingma of Katy, TX; and uncle Fletcher "Buzz" Mills of Midland TX and his children, Denise Mills, Fred Mills, Daphne Childs and son Jason, and Dana Bellah, husband Ken, and son TJ. Julie had a group of friends that span over states and time. When the angels came for Julie on Feb 5th, her cherished friends Camille Tighe, Diana Enriquez, Brenda Greer, Bonnie Born and Aunt GoGo were at her side. She was so so loved in many many ways.

Julie LOVED her family, friends and pets. Her genuine ability to be a confidant and rock for so many made it easy to build lovely lifetime friendships and relationships that will miss her infinitely. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed a game every opportunity she had with her competitive spirit she led everywhere she went.

She was a team player first and foremost and in all ways blending work with volunteering and always leading in social fun. She always had a knack for bringing people together and helping to create a community everywhere she went.

While she may be little in stature, she made up for it in drive, in some ways literally taking the steering wheel no matter how big it was always directing the pathway and forging new sisterhoods where everything was "Absolutely" possible.

It's easy to say she always shared of herself with others always making sure they felt welcome especially in her home and her own personal space.

A welcomed participant in all events leading the pack always dressed the part ready for just the right opportunity to win whether at golf or any contest she was sure to make her mark. Her adventurous spirit and determination for fun taught everyone about a good time!

The lasting and most defined impression was her love. Her love remained steadfast as she brought comfort in sharing her beloved dog, Arizona, and all its peacefulness with all the hearts that needed her. To this day that love remains.

Her strength and will were clearly demonstrated as she battled cancer more than once. It was precisely her second battle with cancer that brought this journey to a close.

Due to the current circumstances with the pandemic, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life service will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 3:30pm at Harper Funeral Home and Crematory, 2606 Southland Blvd., San Angelo, TX 76904. Donations may be made to Donate Life in memory of her great godson Byron Greer or the American Cancer Society, both in honor of Julie.
