Julie Szarka Summers, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2024. She was known for her big-hearted and kind nature, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Born on January 22, 1972, Julie embraced life with a passion for the simple things that brought her joy. Her love for the beach, particularly Key West, resonated with her free spirit. She found solace in indulging in puzzles and crossword puzzles, showcasing her sharp intellect. Julie's knack for collecting things and nurturing her garden brought beauty into her world. Her affection for animals of all kinds was a testament to her compassionate soul, as she found joy in their company and care. Above all, Julie cherished the comfort of being home with family, where she could create a haven filled with love and warmth.
Julie will be dearly missed by her surviving family and friends. Her husband, Barry Summers, stood by her side with unwavering love and support, as well as her daughter, Thuy Tran and fiancé Tyler Smiley and son, Roger "Lee" Huffman; stepson, Ricky Summers; father, Freddie Szarka; brother, Raymond Chilton; sister, Amy Szarka; and half-siblings, Krista, Rhonda, Junior, and Brandy. She was preceded in death by her beloved mom, Cathie Wyrick Szarka.
The family will receive friends from 4:45 – 5:45 PM on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home. A celebration of Julie’s life will follow at 6 PM in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel.
Julie Szarka Summers touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in eternal peace.
