Family First Funeral & Cremations Services - MarcellusJulie Marie Waldron-Givans, affectionately known as Jules, Sweet Thang, and Double Dip, left this world on October 29, 2025, at the age of 65, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Born on January 22, 1960, in Vicksburg, Michigan, Julie was a vibrant spirit whose presence could ignite joy in any room.
Described by her family as truly one of a kind, Julie was a force to be reckoned with—stubborn, spunky, and ever-tough, she embraced life with an indomitable spirit and a sparkle in her eye. Her heart, expansive enough to envelop all those she loved, was matched only by her fierce tenacity. Whether navigating life’s challenges or standing her ground, Julie was a beacon of strength and integrity.
Her love for roses and her feline companions illustrated her nurturing soul. The cherished companionship of her cats, particularly her current sidekick, Knuckle Head, enlivened her days, while fond memories of Coco, one of her all-time favorite kitties, linger sweetly in her heart. Julie often found solace and adventure in the pages of V.C. Andrews' novels, where she could escape into worlds unknown.
She also had a special bond with “the girls from the Steakhouse,” her last workplace, where laughter and friendship were always on the menu. Yet, above all, her cherished Saturdays spent with her daughter, Chrystal, were sacred moments Julie anticipated with great joy.
When the holidays rolled around, Julie came alive, with Christmas reigning as her favorite. The season blossomed with laughter, love, and an abundance of delectable treats that she lovingly prepared. Renowned for her legendary chicken and dumplings, as well as her famous “puppy chow,” Julie delighted everyone with her culinary prowess, particularly during this festive time of year.
Julie’s legacy is one of grit, humor, and an immeasurable capacity for love. Her laughter was infectious, her tales unforgettable, and her warmth comforting. She exuded a bold and beautiful spirit, a vibrant essence that will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Julie's life is a tapestry of joyful memories woven through every shared story, every laugh echoed, and every morsel of puppy chow prepared in her loving honor.
Julie is survived by her beloved children, Chad (Alicia) Waldron and Chrystal Givans; her supportive siblings, Robin (Gary) Struck, Dawn (Jack Olsen) Waldron, Theresa Munn, and Robert Waldron; as well as her grandchildren, Chad Waldron, Jason McMillion, Patrick Martin, Atalianna Waldron, Ella Waldron, Romani Waldron, and Ava Lynn Waldron. The father of her children, Dwight Givans, and her devoted boyfriend, Mark Davenport, remain close to her spirit, alongside her sister-in-law, Linda Esman.
Julie joins her parents, Robert Waldron and Betty Rarick, and her brother in law, Bob Munn, in eternal peace, leaving behind a legacy of love and memories that shall resonate across time.
