Julitta Szczepanski, 96 of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025. She was born in Warsaw, Poland on July 30, 1929 to the late Stanislaw and Aniela (Almakiewicz) Bialowiejski. She lived through WWII with her family.

After the war she, her mother, and sisters escaped Poland and joined her father in England, who was a Squadron Leader/Major of the Polish Pilots Division in the Royal Air Force. Julitta attended and finished high school in England.

In 1951, Julitta, with her parents, came to the United States. She attended the DePaul University in the Music Department.
Julitta loved to travel. She traveled all over the world. Julitta had a very busy and active life. She was a piano teacher. She was also a talented artist. Julitta's works included illustrating books and creating sketches.

Julitta was always active in the community and in Polish organizations. She belonged to the Women's Polish Club in Chicago, the Polish Heritage Awareness Society, and Central Wisconsin Area Community Theater, where she played the Queen of England in one of the plays. She was also involved with the Annual Lectures on Poland.

Julitta worked for "Gwiazda Polarna", the Polish newspaper. Her various roles included writing articles and creating crossword puzzles.
She wrote books, which included "Litka: A Memoir of the War" which is about her and her family's survival of WWII in Poland. "Litka" is a series of books about her life.

Julitta was well versed in both English, Polish, and French languages. She taught Polish and English. She also worked as a Polish/English interpreter and translator. She also drove a school bus and helped local families adopt children from Poland.
Julitta will be dearly missed by her friends and family.

Julitta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Szczepanski; and her sisters, Krystyna and Anna Bialowiejska.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Thaddeus, Anna, Zofia, Krystyna, and Mark. She is further survived by her 7 grandchildren, Luke, Lea, Kaitlyn, Anthony, Kristina, Laura, and Hanna, and her 4 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Julitta will be held at 11:00am on Friday October 17, 2025 at St. Casimir Catholic Church-203 Casimir Rd Stevens Point, WI 54481 with Fr. John Potaczek officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00am until the time of services. Burial in the parish cemetery to follow
