LeRoy Theodore Szczepanski , passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025 at the age of 78. He was the beloved husband of Mary K. (nee Minnich); loving father of Stephanie (Joshua) Dugo, Mary Beth ( Craig) Toth, and David ( Linnea); dear "Papa" of Grace, Carter, and Theodore Toth, and Julia and Elliott Szczepanski; fond brother of Donna and the late Charlene Szczepanski; beloved uncle of many; son of the late Tadeusz and late Pauline Szczepanski.
LeRoy was born and raised in Chicago. He attended Saint Mel High School and served in the Illinois National Guard. He resided on the south west side of Chicago his entire life. LeRoy was a devout member of St. Gall and St. Barbara Parishes. In his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors, a nice cigar and a glass of scotch. LeRoy had an infectious laugh. He loved history, cooking, and spending time with his family, most of all his grandchildren. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Family and friends will gather for visitation Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 3 to 8:00 pm at Walter Pomierski & Son Funeral Home, 1059 West 32nd Street, Chicago, IL. 60608. Viewing Thursday, July 3rd will be at St. Barbara Worship site St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 2859 South Throop Street, Chicago, IL 60608 from 9-10:00 am before mass of Christian burial at 10:00. Interment Saint Mary Cemetery, 87th and Hamlin, Evergreen Park, IL
