AKWESASNE- Julius Louis David, 61, of 408 Cook Road, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at his home.
Julius was born on August 21, 1963 in Massena, son of the late Jack L. Sr. and Florence "Kaheriiostha" (Point) David. He was a graduate of Salmon River High School and earned his welding certificate from Modern Welding School in Schenectady and his Ironworker certificate from St. Lawrence College in Cornwall.
He was an ironworker, carpenter and all-around handyman. He enjoyed helping on the David and Cook farms over the years and in his younger years was a skilled lacrosse and hockey player. He was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos football team and will be remembered as a friendly guy, who always had a smile on his face. He loved to just sit and visit with friends around the table.
Julius is survived by his siblings, Jacqueline Lazore and her husband Angus "Baiah" of Snye; Jack James "Jimmy" David, Jr. of Hogansburg; and Joey "Tehoronio" David and Natalie of Hogansburg; and his close nieces and nephews Anthony, Kateri, Arisawe, Jay, John, Sherri, Mary Ann, Stephanie, Dana, Evan, Al, Alexandra, Karl and Landon.
He was predeceased by his parents Jack and Florence; and his siblings, an infant sister and brother, along with Jerome Joseph and Jeffrey M. David and Christine "June" Vedder.
Friends may call at Akwesasne Homemakers on Tuesday, beginning at 12 noon until Wednesday at 11 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, at 12 noon at the St. Regis Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Kateri Cemetery. His memorial meal will follow beginning at 2:00 PM at the Snye Recreation Center.
