Julius J. “Ju” Mathew, 21, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
Julius Javell Mathew was born November 15, 2001, in Davenport. He graduated from Rock Island High School.
Ju loved to laugh and rap. He was an entrepreneur at heart and was a gifted salesman. He was also into fashion and traveling. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Ju.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Octavia (Yawovi) Klouvi of Davenport, his father, Yoniss Awalle of Africa; four siblings, Alyis Mathew-Brown, Lazarus Mathew, Jedidiah Klouvi, and Abigail Klouvi; and grandparents Earline Spencer of Davenport and Jimmy Mathew of Rock Island; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Ju’s memory.
