In Loving Memory of Julius Eugene Milchak Jr

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Julius “Gino” Milchak a beloved father, partner, and talented musician, who left us on January 22, 2025, at the age 75.

Born in Massillon, Ohio, Gino was a man of many passions, and his life was marked by an unwavering dedication to his family and his love of music. He was one of the original band members of LaFlavour, a group whose sound captured the hearts of many over the decades. With multiple singles that made it onto the Billboard charts, their hit Mandolay reached an impressive #7 on the Disco Chart-a milestone that cemented their place in music history. The band’s certified success led them to sign with MCA Records, and their contributions to the disco era continue to be celebrated by fans and musicians alike.

In addition to his role as a loving father, Gino shared a long and loving relationship with his partner, Carolyn Trost. Their connection brought him much joy, and they built a life together that was grounded in mutual care and affection.

Gino is preceded in death by his parents Julius and Eileen Milchak. Gino is survived by his son, Joseph Milchak and his partner, Carolyn Trost along with a wide circle of family, friends, and colleagues who admired him not only for his musical talent but also for his warmth, wisdom, and humor. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

A private memorial service will be held for close family.
