Julius Stuhlsatz Obituary

Julius Stuhlsatz
April 29, 1924 - June 5, 2021
Garden Plain, Kansas - Stuhlsatz, Julius Peter "Jul", 97, born April 29, 1924, passed away peacefully in Goddard, KS June 5, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Jul served his country in the Navy while stationed in the Pacific at the end of World War II. He once co-owned a service station, but his true calling in life was to be a hard-working farmer. On May 11, 1948, Jul married the love of his life and best friend Eileen (Thimmesch). Together, they celebrated 72 years of marriage. She preceded him in death on January 7, 2021. Survivors include sons Dale (Judy), Chuck, Fred (Tina) all of Garden Plain, and John of Bel Aire; daughters Janis (Steve) Davis of Olathe, and Kathy (John) Meyer of Wichita. He was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Susanna (Ternes) Stuhlsatz; brothers Paul, Ed, Clarence, Sylvester, Leon, William, Joseph and Charles; sister Mary Leis; daughter-in-law Louise; and granddaughter Stacy. Jul made sure those experiencing hardship were cared for. He loved life, never met a stranger, enjoyed competitive arguing, and never wanted to give up his independence! In the last few years, he often said, "It's just hell to get old," but now he is at peace. Rosary on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.; Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., both at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Garden Plain, KS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kansas Honor Flight, or St Anthony Catholic Church.

Please accept our deepest condolences for the loss of Jules.
You all are in our thoughts as you pass through this time of sorrow.

"Death is a challenge. It tells us not to waste time. It tells us to tell each other right now that we love each other" (Leo Buscaglia)

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Stuhlsatz Family during your time of loss and sorrow. In your sadness you can draw comfort in the fact that Juls and Eileen are together again for eternity. Juls was a character. Heenjoyed people. He remembered you and always interested in what you were doing regardless of the years in between. I have known many people over the years but come back to realize the greatest generation in particular these Kansas Farmers have always been bigger than life. Under appreciated. They got it. They had a simple code of honor; work hard, raise and educate their family, do the right thing and help your fellow man in times of need. Great lessons that won't be forgotten. Juls will be missed.

While I did not know him personally, I knew several of his family members. They are all good men. Bless him Lord.
