Jun Liu, 38 of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, passed away on October 4, 2025 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Magnolia Chapel South. at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be held 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
In Loving Memory of Dr. Jun Liu (1986–2025) With profound sadness, we remember Dr. Jun Liu, Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Alabama and Director of the NextGen Transportation Lab. He passed away unexpectedly on October 4, 2025. Dr. Liu was a brilliant scholar, a devoted son, husband, and father, a dedicated mentor, and a kind friend whose passion for transportation research and teaching inspired countless students and colleagues. His love for his family and his commitment to education and innovation have left a lasting legacy. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his parents, wife, child, friends, students, and colleagues around the world.
