June Darlene Baker

Mrs. June Darlene Porter Baker, 95, of Newnan, formerly of Hapeville, GA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, November 28, 2025, at home. She was born January 1, 1930, to Douglas H. Davis and Glenna Mae D'Hollosy Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Leo" Baker.

Mrs. Baker grew up in Hapeville, GA, near the newly opened Hartsfield Airport, where her father, Douglas H. Davis, was a famous pilot and barnstormer. She graduated from Hapeville High School in 1948 and went to West Georgia College for two years. She spent the majority of her adult life on St. Simons Island before moving to Newnan to be closer to her sons. Darlene met her late husband, Leo, at the Tommy Thompson Senior Community Center and married in 2005.

Visitation is Monday, December 1, 2025, at 2:00 pm, followed immediately by a memorial service at 3:00 pm, officiated by Tim Camp, both at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St, Newnan. Mrs. Baker is preceded in death by her brother, Douglas Davis, Jr., and son, Russell Porter. She is survived by sons, Mark Porter and David (Carolyn) Porter; stepdaughter, Linda Deligne; granddaughters, Alison Flynt and Melissa (Jordan) Dowell; and great-grandsons, Flynt Greene, Lawson Greene, and Porter Dowell.
