June C. Blue

June C. (nee Wedig) Blue, of South Barrington, formerly of Des Plaines for almost 50 years, passed away September 16, 2025 at the age of 83, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late James B. Blue; loving mother of Allen (Kira) and Keith (Melissa); proud grandmother of Alexander and Brittany (Patrick).

June was born February 13, 1942 in Chicago to the late Herbert and Charlotte (nee Wiegert) Wedig. She grew up in on the North side of the city, where she learned to love the Cubs and appreciate the arts. June became a teacher, and after dedicating 16 years to raising her boys she returned to work as an administrative professional - first in the AV Office and later the Fine Arts Department at Maine West High School. There she helped organize many events and activities, and loved creating the programs for their theatrical productions. She was very involved in the First United Methodist Church in Des Plaines for many years, helping to lead their childrens' programming among other roles. June loved the fine arts, and both of her sons followed in her footsteps by studying Theatre in college. Later in life, she and Jim both loved spending time at their lake house in Michigan, even more so when that time at the lake included their family.

A private celebration of life will be held by June's family at a later date.
