June Burris, age 87, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, at the West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.
Born on May 29, 1937, in Dyersburg, TN, she was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas and Gertrude Patterson Jeffries. June was a devoted homemaker and was a Baptist by faith. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.
She is survived by her four loving daughters: Leigh Ann Burris (Cayce) of Dyersburg, TN, Debbie Sewell (Tommy) of White House, TN, Sherry Blalock (Chris) of Murfreesboro, TN, and Cindy Barker (David) of Dyersburg, TN. June also leaves behind two brothers, Holice Jeffries and Danny Jeffries, both residing in Nashville, TN, and a sister, Cherry Cooley of Dyersburg, TN. Her legacy continues through her ten grandchildren: Jeremy Burris, Brooke Huxley, Landon Sewell, Alex Blalock, Ben Blalock, Jon Blalock, Tracy Ratliff, Allie Barker, Anna Barker, and Ben Barker, as well as her two great-grandchildren, Jaxton Burris and Jayce Burris.
In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene Burris; two brothers, George Jeffries and Bill Jeffries; and two sisters, Wanda Tipton and Juanita Jeffries.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Fairview Cemetery, with Mr. Stephen Halliburton officiating. Family members and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
