June Holladay Dumas, 65, of Decatur, Alabama passed away Friday, January 5, 2024, at Decatur Morgan Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, January 08, 2024, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 8, 2024, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Pastor Don Kakavecos officiating. Burial will be at Grange Hall Cemetery in Trinity, AL.
Born on April 23, 1958, to Rufus and Mavis Daniels Holladay, June enjoyed traveling with Pellum in her R.V., sewing, and attending NASCAR races with her family. Above all June was a loving, wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include her loving husband of 48 years, Pellum Dumas; two children, Connie Morris (Chris) and Jamar Dumas (Shelly); grandchildren, Molly Arin Wilkerson, Elijah Dumas, Matthew Morris, and Madison Dumas; one sister, Rebecca Holladay; two brothers, David Holladay (Susan) and Gary Holladay (Vicki); and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Mavis Holladay; and one sister, Joyce Shepherd.
Pallbearers will be Elijah Dumas, Matthew Morris, Jackson Steed, Benny Dumas, Josh Dumas, Jack Bean, and Chad Morris.
Honorary Pallbearers are nephews and great-nephews.
The family extends special thanks to the nurses, staff, and Dr. Tucker at NHC of Moulton and Decatur Morgan Hospital especially nurses Hannah and Ireland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
