Frances Joan Davisson

Frances Joan Davisson, 88, of Sulphur Springs, Indiana, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026, at The Waters of Columbia City, Indiana. Born May 12, 1937, in Shirley, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Jarvis and Bonnie (Dowdy) Huckeby.

She was a graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. Frances was a homemaker for most of her life. Mom loved her children and grandchildren. She loved sitting on the back porch listening to the birds singing. She enjoyed preparing food for and watching hummingbirds at her kitchen window. In the springtime, Mom loved planting flowers and observing a wild mother rabbit making a nest in her yard.

Frances is survived by her children, Deborah (Tim) Yarbrough of Trinity, Alabama, Michael (Jane) Davisson of Columbia City, Indiana, and Misty Disinger of Sulphur Springs, Indiana; grandchildren; Erick (Cheryl) Yarbrough of Moulton, Alabama, Emily (Keith) Lacy of Dawsonville, Georgia, Ernie (Myra) Yarbrough of Trinity, Alabama, Kristen (Dave) Richmond of Columbia City, Indiana, Kara (Matt) Shively of Warsaw, Indiana, Kraig Davisson of Columbia City, Indiana, Austin Whittern of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Devin Disinger of Anderson, Indiana; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Gayle Huckeby, Robert Huckeby, Wanda Ray; along with several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband Denver C. "Gravey" Davisson, Frances was preceded in death by her son, Kerry Davisson; siblings, Jason Huckeby, Vella Fadley, Eugene Huckeby, and Hurlen Huckeby.
