Sharon R. Coffelt

Sharon R. Coffelt, 84, of Columbia City, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Miller's at Oak Pointe. Born September 26, 1941 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Leonard and Florence (Collar) Gordon.

She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1959. On May 18, 1974, Sharon married Dale R. Coffelt at the Columbia City United Methodist Church. Sharon had worked for over 25 years at Miller's Merry Manor in Columbia City, retiring in 2004. She had been a member of Columbia City United Methodist Church. She loved her cats and her basset hounds, being outside tending to her flowers and mowing her yard, watching her Soaps, and spending time with her family.

Sharon is survived by her daughters, Lana (Ron) Case, Gloria Lowen and Tonia (Brian) Pelfrey; grandchildren, Josh (Renee) Case, Shannon (Jay Walters) Case, Taylor (Britt) Lowen, Kyle England, and Ciera England; 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marie Coffelt; and 2 nieces and 2 nephews. Along with her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Coffelt in 2015; sister, Carol A. Smith; brothers, Rex Gordon and Wayne Gordon; granddaughter, Tiffani England; son-in-law, Kevin Lowen; and a brother-in-law, Gene T. Coffelt.

Funeral services will be 2 pm Monday, February 23, 2026 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation starting at 12 pm. Pastor Tim Grable will be officiating. A private burial will take place at South Park (Annex) Cemetery where she will be buried next to her husband, Dale. Memorial donations may be given in memory to Humane Society of Whitley County.
