JUNE GAWITH Pratt - June Annette Gawith, 80, passed away Friday, December 20, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family in Pratt. She was born on February 12, 1944 in Concordia to Lester L. and Jennie R. (Hurtig) Smith. June married Kenneth Gawith on May 26, 1966 in Delphos, Kansas. They were married for 58 years. June graduated from Delphos High School in 1962. She then attended Brown Mackie Business School where she graduated with an associates degree. She owned a Home Daycare where she loved taking care of the children. She attended the Pratt Friends Church. Her greatest joy in life were her husband, children and grandchildren, going on picnics whether it was rain, snow or shine. She was an amazing cook, she loved reading, vegetable gardening, taking care of her day care children, going camping and playing the piano. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Gawith; daughters, Jennifer (Dave) Inslee, Kimberly (Shaphan) Staats and Sheila (Wes Wright) Gawith all of Pratt, Kansas; sisters, Joanne Fitzgerald of Boscobel, Wisconsin and Deanna Wier of Mapleton, Kansas; grandchildren, Justin (Rickele) Gilmore, Jarod (Katy) Gilmore, Dominique (Kyle) Pfizenmaier, Danielle (Caleb) Lambert, Kenneth Elisha Staats, Ty Staats, Noah Staats, Kamry (Cody) Hoy, Kyra Johnson and J'air Johnson; great grandchildren, Amylia, Lakynn, Baley, Blakely, Charlotte, Asher, Abram, Jake, Ryan, Nicole, Koda, and Kenna. June is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wayne Smith; sister, Virginia Helget and step-mother, Thaddie Smith. Visitation will be Sunday, December 29 from 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5:00 - 7:00 at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt, Kansas. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 30, 2024 at Larrison Mortuary with pastor Mike Neifert presiding. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 30, 2024 at Delphos Cemetery, Delphos, Kansas.
