Wanda "June" Gladwell, known to most people as "June", 90, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully, Friday, February 7, 2025 at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Our dear mother, "June" was born in Beckley, West Virginia on May 30, 1934 to Romy and Cuma Mace. It was in Beckley at an ice cream shop that she met her husband, Harold, where she had been working. When he returned from serving in the Korean War, they were married, moved to Sandusky, and raised their 5 children; Brenda, Cheryl, Jeff, Kevin, and Timothy.
June worked for Erie County Sheriff jail as a matron and The Ohio Veterans Home. She had a beautiful long life, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. June was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.
We are comforted knowing she is healed and happy to be with her husband, her daughter Brenda; and her sons Jeff and Kevin.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Bays and son, Timothy Gladwell; her grandchildren, Rodney, Brandon (Julie), Anthony, Brittany, Luke (Jessica), Jake; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, June is preceded in death by her husband, Harold; daughter, Brenda Austin; sons, Jeff and Kevin Gladwell; son-in-law, John Bays; her siblings, Linda Hipes, John Henry and Leroy Mace.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, February, 14, 2025 at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave. Sandusky. At the family's request, cremation will take place and a graveside service will take place at a later date at Perkins Cemetery. She is now enjoying the view of beautiful West Virginia Mountains that she loved so much.
