Jon Christopher Gladwell, 56, of Fairmont went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born in Alexandria, Virginia on February 24, 1969, a son of James Allen and Linda Joyce Summers Gladwell of Easley, South Carolina.
He graduated from Williamstown High School in Williamstown, West Virginia in 1987. Jon worked for Middletown Tractor Sales as a Inventory Control Specialist. He was an active member of Victory Baptist Church, serving in the choir, as an usher and participated in the teen group projects. He enjoyed WVU sports, especially wrestling. He was an avid gardener and cat lover. He most enjoyed the time spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Paulette Baker Gladwell; one daughter Jessica Gladwell and her partner Chris Alexander of Akron, Ohio; one son Jacob Gladwell and his partner Kendra Garvin of Tacoma, Washington; one brother Steven Gladwell and his wife Mollyjo of Green, Ohio; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents James and Olive Gladwell and James (Junior) and Delores Summers.
Friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at Victory Baptist Church on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service starting at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Nathan Barker officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Victory Baptist Missions Fund, PO Box 1799, Fairmont WV 26555.
