June Barbara Hicks

June Barbara Hicks, 77, passed away on August 21, 2025. She was born to the late Harvey and Lurena Burger on September 11, 1947 in Copperhill, Tennessee.

June was known for her abounding beauty, which was shown through her flowers, and home decor. She loved to spend time with her family and spoil her grandchildren. June was said to be especially giving, whether that was a perfectly relevant gift, a warm meal, or any other need. Her people never went without. She was strong in her faith, and spent her whole life worshiping God through praise and song. She was an adored mother, and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, June is preceded in death by her siblings, Alice Philips, Kenneth Burger, and Ray Burger.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. Danny Lee Hicks, children, Teresa (Terry) Shelton, Danny (Andrea) Hicks, Marty (Angela) Hicks, David (Cathy) Hayes, grandchildren, Jessica (Tessa) Stinnett, Teryn (Reno) Wimberley, Tanner Hicks, Kinley Hicks, Carter Hicks, Grant Hicks, Derrick (Allie) Hayes, great-grandchildren, Dex Stinnett, Evie Wimberley, Remi Wimberley, and Phoenix Hayes.

The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - the Ridge Sanctuary.

The family will be receiving friends again on Monday, August 25, 2025 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm a companion Funeral Home - The Ridge Sanctuary. A celebration of life service will follow at 1:00 pm with pastor Ron Lesley officiating. Following the service the family will go in procession for a graveside service at Ball Play Baptist Church Cemetery.
