June Annie Lillie Kirk, age 84, of O Fallon, Missouri passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 30, 1940 to Edward and Hilda Henke (nee Dornseif).
We celebrate the life of June, who touched the hearts of many. An avid lover of nature, she found joy in gardening and had a deep affection for animals. June's creativity blossomed through her passion for quilting, where she crafted beautiful pieces that brought warmth to those around her.
A dedicated member of her church, June was actively involved in supporting its mission, reflecting her commitment to her community and Christ. She was always the first to volunteer to help her church congregation. She was a devoted caregiver for her disabled daughter, Karen and her husband, Harvey.
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend, embodying selflessness in all her interactions. June's legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all.
June is survived by her two sons, Steven Kirk of Los Angeles, CA, Gary (Jeanine) Kirk of Prattville, AL; two grandchildren, Andrew Kirk, Ryan (Madison) Kirk; brother, Edward (Donna) Henke; and a host of other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Albert Kirk; her beloved daughter, Karen Sue Kirk, her cherished sister, Joan Henke; her father, Edward John Henke; and her mother, Hilda Henke.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm with a Funeral Ceremony at 12:00 pm Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church: 8945 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, O'Fallon, MO 63366. Interment will be private.
Memorial donations can be made in June's name to Holy Cross Lutheran Church of O'Fallon.
