June Marbes, 89, of Green Bay, Wisconsin passed peacefully on November 26, 2025.

Anyone who knew June was aware of her strong personality and love of her family. She also had a great love for birds and woodland animals. June kept bread and birdseed always available outside her window and enjoyed hours of watching them visit her.

June was born in Fremont, Wisconsin on December 23rd, 1935 to Lawrence and Myrtle (Thomas) Neubauer. She spent her childhood on the family farm until moving to Green Bay and earning her teacher's degree from St Norbert College. She was married to Elmer Marbes on July 23, 1955.

June was mainly a homemaker but held several jobs outside the home as the kids grew older, some of which were a cook at Kaapp's Restaurant, office assistant at St. Agnes school, catechism teacher at St. Agnes and in the packaging room at Packerland Packing. June was a talented seamstress, making her children's clothes and alterations as a side job privately. She loved to bake and often made bread to bring to St. Agnes convent and rectory. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she made it a wonderland for the family. She covered the tree with a collection of hand blown ornaments and tinsel on every branch. June was a devout Catholic and prayed often for those in need.

June is survived by her younger sister Janice (Richard)Grammer; her children Michael Marbes, Barbara Marbes, Christine Marbes, Patricia (Marshal) Archer, Bernard Marbes; stepchildren Richard and Susan Marbes; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Elmer; brother Lawrence Jr.; sister Joyce Neubauer; daughter Maureen (Dan) Teele; stepchildren Phillip, Patrick, Jean, Rosemary; and many friends.

The family would like to thank Sienna for looking out for June's affairs, GBHS for their years of care, Bellin hospital for her comfort in the last days.

June wished for her body to be donated for medical teaching as her charity was foremost even in death. Due to recent health issues that was not possible so her alternative request for cremation and scattering of ashes will be honored. June had bedside rites given in keeping with her wishes for no service publicly. In spring she will be returned to her home with a scattering of ashes.
