Phillip John Marbes, age 85 of Green Bay, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022, in the St. Francis Dementia Care Wing of McCormick Assisted Living.
Phil was born February 21, 1937, in Marinette to the late Elmer and Evelyn (Haglund) Marbes. He married the former Carol Slawinski on October 7, 1972. Phil was an Air Traffic Controller during his military service in the United States Air Force while serving in Tagu, Korea. He then went on to work at General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee and Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport.
Phil is survived by his wife: Carol; 5 children and 5 grandchildren: son Daniel (Timberly) Marbes, daughter Dana (Scott) Loch and their 2 children: Alex and Parker, son Charles (Roxanne) Marbes and their 3 children: Brittanie, Jacob, and Willamina, and daughters Cheryl and Virginia; one brother: Richard (Mary Jane) Marbes. He is further survived by his beloved granddogs: Oona Mae, Stella, Skylar, Squintz, and Sophie. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Relatives and friends may greet the family from 4:00 PM until the time of service at 7:00 PM at The Lyndahl Funeral Home (1350 Lombardi Avenue, Green Bay) on Friday, September 16, 2022.
Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting www.lyndahl.com.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at McCormick Assisted Living, especially Teala, Ary, and Marissa, and to Unity Hospice for all their care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Phil's name be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
The Lyndahl Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
