June T. Murray, a lifelong Chicagoan, devoted public servant, and passionate advocate for disability rights, passed away on June 23, 2025, at the age of 75.

Born and raised in the Bridgeport neighborhood, June was the eldest of 13 siblings. She dedicated over three decades, 33 years to the City of Chicago, working in the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities. Through her tireless work and unwavering dedication, she helped shape policies and programs that advanced the rights and dignity of people with disabilities. She played a meaningful role in the implementation and ongoing efforts surrounding the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a cause she championed with deep conviction.

Beloved daughter of the late George J. and the late Ellen E. (nee Oberfell) Murray; dear sister of Georgine, Michael (the late Marjorie), Mary (Ed) Klus, the late Martin, Patrick, the late Kathleen, Ellen (Steve) Bartucci, John, the late Ruth (William) Fear, the late Margaret Finley, James (Abby) and George Murray; fond aunt and great aunt of many. Lifelong Bridgeport Resident and Sox fan. Visitation will be held on Friday; June 27th from 3:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Michael Coletta Sons Funeral Home 544 W. 31st St. (Chicago). Saturday; June 28th Chapel Prayers at Michael Coletta Sons Funeral Home 9:15 A.M. procession to Old St. Mary's Church 1500 S. Michigan Ave. (Chicago) for Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 A.M (Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on link provided below). Interment St. Mary Cemetery.
