June Scharfe Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service - Graniteville on Dec. 18, 2025.
Ms. June Lee Scharfe, 85, entered into rest on Monday, December 15, 2025.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 4 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, South Carolina 29829. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.
Ms. Scharfe was born in New Milford, Connecticut to the late Lee Slaughter and Amelia Cable Slaughter. June retired from East Aiken Elementary School as their bookkeeper and secretary after overthirty years of service. June enjoyed gardening, reading (particularly stories with happy endings), and especially spending time with her beloved grandchildren and pets.
Left to cherish June's memory are her daughters, Brenda DeLoache (Barry), of Aiken, South Carolina, and Beverly Bishop (Pete), of Roberta, Georgia; her sisters, Amelia Schnell and Linda Green, both of Warren, Connecticut, and four grandchildren: Portia Key (Seth), Nicholas DeLoache, Simon DeLoache, and Johnny McGowan.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Aiken County Animal Shelter at fotasaiken.org and/or SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare at letlovelive.org
