June K. Schodowski

June K. Schodowski, age 89, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, September 11, 2025. She was born to Stanley and Gladys (nee Smith) Kole in Cleveland, Ohio on June 1, 1936. June's family was her love & passion; daily home cooked meals for her family, impeccably maintaining 3 homes with joy, and her flower gardens were amazing. She made every holiday extraordinary. She loved spending her time at their family home on Kelleys Island and above all, her pride and joy were found in each of her 17 grandchildren. She served as a eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Grace Church and St. Michael's parish on Kelleys Island. June could also be found cooking for events at the church as well as funerals and neighbors. She was a devout woman with an amazing faith. She loved the Catholic church and was devoted to the Holy Rosary. She was a member of The Women of Hope Ministry at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She will be sorely missed by family and friends.

Left to celebrate June's life are her loving children, Michael-dec (Claudia) Schodowski, Mark (Tama) Schodowski, Marilyn Schodowski, Michelle (Bruce) Dobbins and Melissa (Paul) Happel; her cherished grandchildren, Eric Schodowski, Evan Schodowski, Elaine (Peter) Tapolyai, Elyse (Joseph) Schodowski, Eve Schodowski, Jessica (Kevin) Schodowski-Shenker, Rachel (Brian) Hill, Jonathan (Hallie) Schodowski, Charles Dobbins, Angelina Dobbins, Shannon Dobbins, Justine Happel, Abigail Happel and Eva J. Happel; her adorable great grandchildren, Nora, Faye, Chloe, and 1 expected great grandchild in October, and many extended family and friends.

June is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Schodowski of 69 years, her son Michael, and her five siblings.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 11:00am, with 1-hour prior visitation beginning at 10:00am, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church located at 1088 Ridge Road, Hinckley, OH 44233.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory be made to the Kelleys Island EMS, P O Box 11, Kelleys Island, OH 43438.
