June (Frasch) Treick, Scotland, SD, passed away November 10, 2024 at the Scotland Good Samaritan Center after a long battle with dementia.

June’s visitation will be held at the Scotland Community Church on Friday, November 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 10:30 a.m. A graveside service will be held immediately after the funeral service. A luncheon will be served then at the Scotland Community Church.

June was born June 14, 1936 to Berthold and Hilda (Huber) Frasch on a farm near Menno, SD. She graduated from Menno High School in 1954. After high school, June went to work for NWPS in Yankton, SD for 2 years. She then married Gerald Gunn in 1956 and welcomed 3 daughters, Debra, Karla and Sheila. June worked tirelessly on the farm and took on jobs in the Scotland community that included Rettedal’s Department Store and the Scotland Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She began working again in 1977 for NWPS in Scotland, SD for the following 22 years. June married Roger Treick on June 25, 1994 in Scotland, SD

June was an active member of the VFW Auxiliary beginning in 1960 and served as color bearer, President, and Treasurer for 6 years. She also served on the Good Samaritan Center Board for 6 years. She was a member of Civic Club, L-J Hospital Auxiliary, Grace Lutheran Church, Menno, SD, Zion Lutheran Church, Scotland, and currently a member of Scotland Community Church, Scotland, SD. June modeled for Rettedal’s Department Store on several occasions and loved taking care of her grandchildren. June and Roger enjoyed many trips across the US visiting family and friends. She also enjoyed hunting alongside Roger, an activity we did not think she would engage in! She was not shy to meet a stranger, always smiling and willing to start a conversation! Her smile and kindness will be truly missed by all.

June will be missed by her husband, Roger; daughters, Debra Bertrand, Karla (Robert) O’Connor, Sheila (Mark) Turgeon and bonus, daughter, Janelle (Jay) Pidcock; brother, Donald (JoAnn) Frasch. June leaves behind grandchildren, Joshua Bertrand, Nicole (Corey) Pechous, Traci (Cody) VandeWeerd, Tierney (Milan) Brandon and bonus grandchildren, Amy (Tim) Hoback, Sean (Caresa) O’Connor, Ryan (Katie) O’Connor, Molly Fullerton, Jenn (Ben) Colter, Joshua Turgeon, Katelyn Pidcock and Alissa Pidcock. She also leaves behind 22 great-grandchildren, as well, as many extended family members and friends.

June is preceded in death by her parents; bonus mother; Alice; brothers, Dennis and Randy; sister-in-law, Ursula; mother-in-law, Aileen Treick and father-in-law, Erwin Treick.

Memorial contributions in June’s honor in lieu of flowers will be forwarded to the Scotland Community Church, VFW Auxiliary #2966 and the Scotland Good Samaritan Center.
