Obituary of June R. Truex

June R. Truex, 81, of Freehold Township, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold. Born in Trenton, she was raised in Hamilton Township and later lived in Milford, Connecticut, and Plymouth, Michigan, before settling in Freehold Township in 1978. June earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and started her professional life as a registered nurse in the pediatric department at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. She also worked for more than 40 years as the office manager at Kevin W. Truex & Associates in Princeton/Freehold.

A woman of faith, June was parishioner of the First Presbyterian Church of Freehold. She had a deep love of reading, especially historical fiction and thrillers and was a homebody at heart. One of her simple pleasures was taking road trips to the library, where she could lose herself in a good book.

June is predeceased by her parents, Joseph Martin Perron and Marion Perron; daughter, Michelle Truex Podesta; and brother, Joseph Perron, Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Kevin W. Truex; daughter, Kimberly Twarkusky and her husband, Dave; grandchildren, Taryn Podesta, Joseph Podesta, III, Sean Irelan and his wife, Mackenzie, and Kristi Irelan.

At this time, all arrangements are private and under the direction of the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township. A memorial service will be announced at a later date and time. The family welcomes flowers or donations to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, 13770 Noel Road, Suite 801889, Dallas, TX 75380 or HERE.
