Dearl Truex, 71, of Midland, Texas, passed from this life on December 23, 2025, surrounded by the people he loved and cherished. Born on November 20, 1954 in Midland. Dearl spent his whole life in the community he called home.

He devoted his life to working in the oilfield, but his greatest joy came from the time he spent with family and loved ones. Dearl was a man who treasured simple pleasures, from listening to rock 'n' roll that lifted his spirit, to playing slot machines, and most importantly, sharing laughter and love with those around him.

A lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys, he held onto the hope of seeing them in the Super Bowl one last time. More than anything, Dearl's heart was full when he was with his grandchildren, delighting in sneaking them ice cream, and handing out snacks like it was a full time job. He wasn't ready to go, but he knew he'd left a better mark and created memeories that will last a lifetime.

In the months before his passing, Dearl acknowledged Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, finding peace and hope in the promises of God. He fought a good fight, and though death comes to all, it cannot claim the victory. "For dust you are, and to dust you shall return" (Genesis 3:19). Yet death was conquered at the cross, "Death has been swallowed up in victory" (1 Corinthians 15:54).

He will be remembered for the love he gave, the joy he shared, and the moments he created. Though we mourn his passing, we take comfort in knowing this is not goodbye, this is "see you later".
