June A. Worthley, 74, of 400 Lamb Avenue, Canastota passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Wynn Hospital, Utica, following a lengthy illness.

She was born on September 22, 1950, in Canastota, the daughter of the late Edway and Virginia (Roberts) Messinger.

June lived in the Canastota area most of her life, graduating from Canastota High School in 1968, and had also lived in Chittenango for ten years.

She worked at the Ames Department Store in Oneida for more than 20 years, and after it closed she worked at Oneida Healthcare.

June enjoyed dancing, country music, crossword puzzles, word searches, and spending time with her friends.

She married Manley H. Worthley, Sr., on December 4, 1971, in Bridgeport. Manley passed away on April 10, 2001.

Surviving: two sons, Manley H. Worthley, Jr. of Florida, and Scott H. Worthley of Chittenango; three daughters, Tracey Beadle of Oneida, Barbara Hurley of N. Dakota, and Kimberly Worthley of Canastota; one brother, Carl Messinger of Sherrill; one sister, Audrey Lowe of Cleveland; six grandchildren, Tiffany Erb, Kristy Driscoll, Ashley Worthley, Kaitlyn Wright, Richard Hurley, Jr., and Annabelle Payne; several great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. June was predeceased by two brothers, Charles "Charlie" Messinger, and Cecil Messinger; and three sisters, Jean Messinger, Pearl Ina Messinger, and Fern Messinger.

At June's request there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
