Junior Xavier Bonds, a cherished member of the community, entered eternal rest on January 6, 2026, in Leonardtown, Maryland, at the age of 83. Born on February 7, 1942, in Chaptico, Maryland, Junior lived a life defined by simplicity, independence, and a deep appreciation for the joys of living.

Junior dedicated his career to service as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic for the federal government. His strong work ethic reflected his peaceful, easygoing nature and quiet determination. Educated through the St. Mary’s County Public School System, Junior developed the resilience and self-reliance that would guide him throughout his life.

A true outdoorsman at heart, Junior found peace and fulfillment in nature. He was an avid hunter who took pride in providing for himself, cooking whatever wildlife he harvested—whether deer, rabbits, muskrats, or other game. His connection to the land nourished his soul, and every meal was a celebration of his resourcefulness and respect for the natural world.

Affectionately known as June-Bud, Cool Breeze, and Bubba-Lue, Junior was remembered as a charming ladies’ man with a magnetic personality that could light up any room. He danced to the beat of his own drum, free-spirited and unconfined by convention. Always on the move, Junior loved being out and about—exploring, flirting, laughing, and connecting with people. His warmth, kindness, and zest for life made him a friend to many.

Junior’s legacy lives on through his beloved children: Chevy Dickens, Pamela Curtis, Stanley (Grace) Bonds, Crystal Bradley, Melissa (Knoxie) Biscoe, Damion Bonds, Eric Bonds, Anthony Ford, Aaron Kelley, and Junior Bonds. He is also survived by his brother James Bernard Bonds, George Lee Bonds.; sister Shirley Kyle,Gloria King, Dinah Marie Bonds and Angela Lois Dias and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

each carrying a piece of his spirit and the love he freely gave.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Dennis Curtis; his parents, Richley Paul Bonds and Mary Margaret Bonds; and his siblings, Joseph David Bonds, Francis Paul Bonds, Earl Vincent Bonds, Linda Mae Bonds, Anthony Donald Bonds, and Judy Mae Bonds—with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and family bonds.

With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to Junior—a man who embraced life fully and lived it on his own terms. Though his absence leaves a profound void, his laughter, love of nature, and unforgettable charm will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

The funeral service will be held on Friday February 6, 2026, with visitation starting at 10 AM and funeral services to start at 11 AM. Funeral services will be held at Gospel Tabernacle of Prayer address 24516 Budds Creek Rd, Clements, MD 20624.
