Junior Alexis Herrera
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Junior Alexis Herrera, who left us on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was just twenty years old.
Born and raised in New Brunswick, Junior attended New Brunswick Public Grammar Schools and later attended Highland Park High School.
Junior was full of life and love. Throughout his life he really enjoyed playing soccer, a sport he continued to play into adulthood. Music was also a part of who he was - in his younger years, he proudly played the trumpet. He was an avid gamer who loved playing Call of Duty and Fortnite, and his favorite meal was pork ribs with salsa verde over white rice.
Junior will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, and the deep love he had for his family. He was a devoted son and brother who always found joy in spending time with his loved ones. His bond with all his siblings was special, but he especially cherished the one he shared with his youngest sister, Sarai - a relationship filled with laughter, love, and care.
He is survived by his loving parents, Abraham Herrera and Leidy Quintero-Diaz, and his siblings Jesus Herrera, Aileen Herrera, Sarai Ruiz, Anahi Ruiz, Jazmine Herrera, and Stephanie Camargo, as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, and extended family who adored him deeply.
Junior's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His laughter, kindness, and love will continue to shine through the lives he touched. Though his time here was far too short, the joy he brought will be remembered always.
