Justin Nathaniel Brink, age 40, of El Jebel, CO, passed away unexpectedly in Denver, CO, on April 23, 2023. Justin was born in Denver on September 17, 1982. He moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 1984 with his family. Justin went to school in Basalt. He was a member of the Junior National Snowboard Team and the Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club. Justin was a gifted snowboarder and wakeboarder. He lived his dream competing in both sports professionally across the country. He loved Colorado, hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, and boating. He enjoyed CrossFit and was a certified personal trainer. Justin was a funny goofball who could turn a simple statement into an endless explanation. He had an innocent, kind and sensitive soul. He was generous and would give the shirt off his back to a friend. Justin was preceded in death by his wife, Gianna Rizzuto. He leaves behind his mother, Diana BrinkBartow, stepfather, Kevin Bartow, father, John Brink, daughters, Aliyah Kirby and Lily Stokes, stepbrother, Brian Jordan, fiancé, Kassy Simpson, aunts, Vickie Heil, Jackie Rosen, Jenny Brink, and Becky Hagedorn, uncle, Jim Brink, cousins, Heather Edwards, Franny Heck, Kegan Hagedorn, Amber Schlottach, Greg Brink, Sandra Brink, Tommy Rabbit, Jessica Carlson, Alison Scully, Megan Heldt, Emily Davis, and Jordan Rosen, and a multitude of friends. Justin struggled with addiction for a large part of his adult life. Addiction stole his hopes, aspirations, and the things he loved. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Phoenix in Justin's honor. www.thephoenix.org The funeral service will be at Cornerstone Christian Church, 20351 Highway 82, Basalt, 11:30am on Saturday, June 17, 2023. A celebration of Justin's life will follow at the American Legion Post 100, 97 N. 3rd Street, Carbondale, 1:30pm. Burgers, brats, hot dogs, chips and dips will be served. Please bring a side dish or dessert, your happy memories, funny stories, and favorite photos to share.
